Fifteen miles an hour on two wheels is a different order of thing from four and a half on four, and this shelf is written for parents who know that. A chain drive puts the power down the way a motorbike does, so the throttle is progressive rather than on-or-off, and the LED display on the bars tells a child what is left in the pack before the bike tells them. How fast is an ELEMARA dirt bike really?

Fifteen to fifteen and a half miles an hour on level ground, on a full pack, with a rider inside the 150-pound limit. That is genuinely fast on two wheels: a child covers the length of a suburban garden in about three seconds. Grass, a slope and a heavier rider each take something off it, and all three together take a lot.

Does an ELEMARA dirt bike need a helmet?

Yes, and the standard to look for is a bicycle helmet, since the federal performance rule at 16 CFR part 1203 covers headgear marketed for cycling and the multi-purpose helmets most families already own. A helmet sold only for skateboarding is not covered by that rule.

Can you slow an ELEMARA dirt bike down for a younger rider?

There are three speed settings on the bars and a twist-grip throttle that is progressive rather than on-or-off, so the first setting is genuinely slow. What there is not is a parent remote, and that is deliberate. If you want an override, the machine you want is on the ride-on car shelf, not this one.
