01The first car with a key of its own
Twelve volts for a three-year-old crossing a patio at walking pace, twenty-four for two children who want a hill. Licensed Mercedes-Benz and Lamborghini bodies, a fire truck, and the plain off-roader that outsells them all.

What separates the two halves of this shelf is not the badge on the bonnet but the battery behind the seat. A twelve-volt car tops out between 1.9 and 3.5 miles an hour and holds a rider up to about 66 pounds: that is a toddler on a flat driveway with an adult holding the remote. A twenty-four-volt two-seater runs to 4.5 or 5 and carries up to 130 pounds, which is two school-age children and a slope. Buy the first one for a child who is learning that a pedal makes something happen, and the second for a child who already knows.

Prices are the ones we last read; care from ELEMARA updates them on a schedule, and the figure at the till is the one that counts.
02Before you order
What people want settled before they buy a ride-on car.
A twelve-volt car with a parent remote. At that age the child is learning that a pedal makes something happen, and the adult holding the remote is the brake. The seat width and the 66-pound limit matter more than the badge on the bonnet, and a small three-year-old will get two or three summers out of one.
The licence buys the shape, the grille and the badge, not the running gear. A licensed twelve-volt G63 and a plain twelve-volt off-roader share a voltage, a weight limit and a remote. What the licensed cars do add is the thing a four-year-old actually cares about, which is that the car is a real car they have seen on a road.
On the two-seat machines, yes, and the weight limit is a combined figure rather than a per-seat one. A 130-pound limit takes two forty-pound children with room to spare and does not take a nine-year-old and an adult. The single-seat cars have one belt, and a second child perched on the arm is how a car gets tipped.
