A stepless throttle is the whole difference between a kart and a ride-on car. There are no speed settings to pick between: the pedal gives you whatever fraction of five miles an hour your foot asks for, which is how a child learns to hold a slide rather than to switch one on. The rear castors are the other half: they let the back end break traction on purpose, on a flat surface, at a speed where the worst outcome is spinning to a stop facing the wrong way.

The seat slides through a range meant to cover six to fourteen, which is unusually wide, and it is the reason this is the one machine here that a child does not outgrow in two summers. What it needs is a surface: a long driveway, an empty car park, a school playground out of hours. A garden with a step in it, or grass of any kind, is the wrong place for a low-slung kart with castors at the back.

How does an ELEMARA drift kart drift?

Two castors at the rear instead of driven wheels. They roll freely in any direction, so a turn at speed swings the back end out and the rider catches it with the steering. On tarmac at five miles an hour it is repeatable and unspectacular, which is exactly what you want a child learning on.

What age is the ELEMARA drift kart for?

Six to fourteen, and the sliding seat is what makes that range real rather than optimistic. A six-year-old sits with the seat forward and their feet on the pedals; a twelve-year-old slides it back and rides with their knees lower.

Where can you use an ELEMARA drift kart?

Flat, hard and empty. A long driveway, an empty car park or a sports court. Not grass, the castors do not roll on it, and not anywhere with a kerb, a step or a slope onto a road.
